Non-invasive Carboxy Therapy
Dr Dermer’s non-Invasive Carboxytherapy is a treatment in which, a Carboxytherapy Gel is applied to the face in an even layer and then a specific Carboxytherapy Activator mask / pad is pressed firmly onto the gel. The interface promotes reactions between carboxygel and activator mask/pad and produces a specific amount of carbon dioxide, which is infused into the skin.
An artificial Bohr Effect is induced and the skin oxygenation and natural rejuvenation process start immediately. During the treatment, the client / patient may feel a slight tingling and the treated area can become mildly red due to the increased blood microcirculation. In this method, no recovery period is needed and the results are observable even after the first session of the treatment.
Scientific Principle, The Bohr Effect
The Bohr effect is a well-recognized physiologic process by which the exchange of Produced Carbon Dioxide by cells metabolism and oxygen provided by red blood cells is regulated by reducing hemoglobin’s affinity for oxygen, thereby promoting the release of O2 to hypoxic tissues.
By increasing CO2 concentration in the skin, the blood microcirculation is increased and the haemoglobin releases Oxygen. The ensuing supply of oxygen stimulates collagen production and accelerates cellular metabolism. Stimulation of microcirculatory improves skin perfusion and facilitates the accumulation of natural growth factors, nutrient delivery, waste disposal, dermal regeneration and reactions resulting in natural skin rejuvenation.
